CareerGPS Career Exploration Week
CareerGPS Career Exploration Week is a program produced by LEED and
sponsored by Bank of America and Los Rios Community College - Project
STRIPE.
In
2009, the CareerGPS Career Exploration Week provided over 3,000 middle
and high school students from 15 schools in the Twin Rivers Unified
School District the opportunity to navigate career opportunities in
five high priority industry sectors in the Sacramento region: Health
Care, Infrastructure, Technology, Public Service, Small
Business/Entrepreneurship.
Through CareerGPS Career Exploration Week, high school students will
leave with a better understanding of the necessary skills, training
requirements, and educational pathways for their field of interest.
Middle school students will have a better understanding of the
available career exploration opportunities at their feeder high schools
and will be better prepared to make an informed decision about their
academic pathways.
LEED
will be holding this event at other Sacramento region school districts
throughout during 2009-2010 school year.
